Midsummer Games

Midsummer is all about the outdoors, and the sunlight; there are games of skill and tests of strength. It's all about power, ego and supremacy. Archery, wrestling, swimming and dancing are all popular outdoor games at midsummer.

Love is popular too: there are traditions of lovers washing themselves in the dew of St. John's Day morning for luck. Midsummer Day is a traditional time for weddings.

"The lords and ladies now abroad
For their disport and play
Do kiss sometimes on the grass
And sometimes in the hay..."
